A dramatic waterfall of around 200 metres tumbling down the mountainside beside the road from Sapa to O Quy Ho Pass.
Silver Waterfall (Thác Bạc) drops in several tiers down the side of the Hoang Lien Son range, right beside the main road west of Sapa Town. A set of stone steps and a small bridge lets you climb close to the spray for a better view.
The name comes from the white, silvery water against the dark rock and green forest. The falls are most powerful in the rainy season from around May to September, but they are worth a stop at any time of year on the way to O Quy Ho Pass.
